The museum is located in the village of Lany. The castle in that village is the summer seat of the Presidents of the Czech Republic. The first president of the Czech Republic, Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, considered Lany his home and spent many moments of both work and rest there.
The village is located about 35 km westbound from Prague. You can reach Lany from Prague easy:
- by car: take the road E48, heading Karlovy Vary, after about 35 km change to the road 236 and continue for about 4 km to Lany
- by bus: from the bus stop located near the underground station Hradcanska (line A)
- by train: from the station Praha - Masarykovo or from the station Praha - Dejvice (near the underground station Hradcanska - line A) to the station of Stochov and then walk about 2 km
