History of the JAGUAR E Type reg. 310 WK

The Jaguar E 3.8 roadster (body S/N 850 429, engine S/N R4470-8) was dispatched from the factory in Coventry on March 12, 1962 in red color and have got the registration number 310 WK. The T.K.AUTO'S firm in London was its first owner. The car was carried over on October 22, 1964 to the ownership of Waren Pierce, the former engineer of the Cooper Grand Prix Team. Waren Pearce trimmed his new car immediately and started to race in the GT class.

In 1965 - 1969 he had taken part in 93 races on the best known British race tracks, for example Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Crystal Palace, Mallory Park, Setterton, Castle Combe, Oulton Park, Phoenix Park, Mondello Park and Thruxton.

This car achieved the first place 56 times, the second place 27 times, the third place 14 times and the fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth place once with Waren Pierce behind the steering wheel.

The car had been improved during that time. The rear axle got more accurate guide, steel outer parts of the body were replaced with laminate ones to reduce weight of the car, the fenders were extended for wider tyres installation, a special exhaust piping was installed and so on.

The car had been taking part in races until 1982. Brian Murphy, one of its later owners, completed the body of the car with front and rear spoilers in 1976. The next owner, Ron Lea, crashed on the Aintree race track in July 1982. After a time he decided to restore the car to the state corresponding to the 1966-68 period. In 1991, the car appeared in the circuit and hill climb races of the British Oldtimers Championship. This period of its career ended in the late 1994.

At the beginning of the year 1996 the car was bought to the Czech Republic. It will be restored to the state corresponding to the present strict technical regulations in order to be the winner of the Czech and European Oldtimers Championships.
